Abstract

One of the expressions of the value attributed to work is through salary, career and working conditions. The (Piso Salarial Profissional Nacional - PSPN) for professionals in the public teaching of Basic Education, created in 2008 in response to the demand for valuing teaching work. This article starts from an excerpt from the Doctoral thesis and aims to analyze the implementation of the PSPN Law in the state network of Pernambuco, in an attempt to understand the extent to which the teaching worker was valued and how the covid-19 pandemic influenced this aspect. As considerations, the advancement of the category's struggle with the approval of the law, but essential challenges such as the construction of attractive and viable career plans, with policies that support such as the encouragement of postgraduate training, in addition to updating and gaining real floor.
