Abstract

This article is the result of the Course Completion Work-TCC, carried out in the context of the Pedagogy course at the Centro Universitário FACOL-UNIFACOL, with the following general objective: to understand how the educational practices developed by the Network of Black Women of Pernambuco contribute to the fight against racism and black female empowerment. This qualitative research aimed to research the collaborators of the Black Women's Network of Pernambuco in the city of Vitória de Santo Antão-PE. Regarding the data collection instruments, we used a semi-structured interview (GIL, 1999) and based on the findings in the speeches, we performed Content Analysis (BARDIN, 1977). Based on the analyses, we highlighted the following core meanings: I) Educational practices beyond school; II) Awareness and Empowerment; III) Valuation of identity; IV) Pedagogy as a tool for social transformation. In this direction, we emphasize that the Black Women's Network is configured as a space-time for the promotion of educational practices that contribute to the process of combating racism and in promoting the protanonism of black women from Pernambuco, by recognizing the women authors of their practices, struggles and stories.
