The work in question seeks to understand how the identity, historical, geographic and social aspect of the Regional concept, introduced by Freyre in 1926, dominated a large part of northeastern intellectual writings during the 1930s and until almost the 1950s. It is based on the origins and characteristics of the regionalist group in the northeast, which culminated in the regionalist week of 1926, and unfolded in debates by Brazilian modernist groups, and later in numerous academic, artistic and architectural influences in the region. Thus, with the support of Berdouley's (2010) contextual analysis method, associated with the documentation of documentary and icnographic collections from both Fundaj and the national newspaper library, this article summarizes the depth of this Regional influence, rescuing its present contribution to our experiences. current historical and spatial.
