Agriculture has always been a fundamental part of human civilization, providing essential food and raw materials. However, over the decades, agriculture has undergone a significant transformation driven by the advancement of Information Technology (IT). Today, IT integration in agriculture plays a critical role in optimizing processes, increasing productivity and improving the sustainability of the agricultural sector. The importance of Information Technology in agriculture can be observed on several fronts. In addition to the obvious economic benefits, incorporating IT into agriculture is critical to addressing pressing global issues such as food security, natural resource scarcity and climate change. The present study aims to analyze the importance of information technology in agriculture. The methodology used is qualitative research, through a bibliographic review. It is concluded that Information Technology plays an increasingly vital role in modern agriculture. It not only increases efficiency and productivity, but also helps shape the future of agriculture in a sustainable way. As technology continues to advance, it is essential that farmers and the agricultural industry continue to embrace these innovations to meet the challenges that the future presents.
