AbstractThe occurrence of the Zika virus in the city of Uberlândia (MG) was initially registered in 2016, when the first cases of the disease were reported. The present work was developed with the objective of studying the epidemiological situation of the Zika Virus, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, making known the spatial, seasonal distribution, by age group and sex of patients, during the pandemic period, in the years from 2019-2021, in the city of Uberlândia. The methodology used is an ecological, constituted through a survey of cases of the disease in the database of the descriptive study. The study population was Epidemiological Surveillance of the Municipal Health Department (SMS) of Uberlândia. In the period from 2019 to 2021, 191 cases were confirmed. During the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a drop in Zika cases compared to 2019: 87.3% in 2020 and 97% in 2021. The highest incidence of the disease was in the South Sector neighborhoods (28.3%), followed by the North Sector (22.5%). The seasonality of cases occurred predominantly in the first semester of each year of study, with a reduction in the incidence rate of cases in the subsequent months, with the arrival of winter. Considering the epidemiological profile, about 78% of the affected population was female. The predominant age group was in adulthood (21 to 59 years old) with 78.5%. The analysis of the epidemiological situation of Zika in Uberlândia revealed a serious public health problem, as in most municipalities in the country.
