A geografia e o problema da interdisciplinaridade entre as ciências

Resumo

RESUMO A Geografia, como ciência, tem tido uma evolução rápida e bem diversificada. Hoje, não é mais a ciência que analisa e descreve a superfície da terra, mas a que estuda e tende a explicar o espaço produzido pelo homem, indicando as origens do relacionamento entre a sociedade e a natureza. O homem – individualmente – nenhuma influência tem na formação do espaço e na utilização do território; mas a sociedade, dispondo cada vez mais de capital e tecnologia, modifica o espaço natural, o meio natural, criando o espaço próprio que lhe interessa. O desenvolvimento dos conhecimentos referentes à Terra, à ação do homem sobre a terra, antes reunidas na geografia, foram se dispersando para outros saberes científicos e dando origem a novas ciências e a outros campos de investigação não especificamente geográficas. Assim, é costume se agrupar, ao lado da Geografia, a Geologia, a Mineralogia, a Pedologia, a Metrosologia, etc. Essa interdisciplinaridade traz, não só o enriquecimento da Geografia, como o das demais ciências. Nowadays, it isn’t the science that analyses and describes the earth surface, but it is the one which studies and explains the space produced by man, indicating the relationships origins between the society and the nature. Man himself doesn’t have any influence in the space formation and in the territory use; but the society being suplied more and more by money and technology, modifies the natural space, the natural environment, creating the space itself which interests the society. The development of the studies refering to the earth and to the man’s action on the earth which were collected before in Geography, were scattered for other scientific knowledges and origining new sciences and new fields of investigation not specifically geographical ones. Thus, it is common to gather beside Geography, the Geology, the Mineralogy, the Pedology, the “Metrosology” etc. This interdisciplinarity brings not only the Geography development but that of the other sciences. La géographie comme science a connu une évolution assez rapide et bien diversifiée. Aujourd’hui elle n’est plus la science qui analyse et décrit la surface de la terre, mais la science qui étudie et essaye d’expliquer l‘espace produit par l’homme, montrant les origines de la mise en relation de la société avec la nature. L’homme n’a aucune influence sur la formation de l’espace et sur l’utilisation du territoire; mais la société, qui dispose chaque fois plus du capital et de la technologie, modifie 1‘espace naturel, le moyen naturel, créant l’espace qui lui intéresse. Le développement des connaissances sur la terre, l’action de l’homme sur la terre, jadis réunies par la géographie, ont été dispersés par les autres savoirs scientifiques donnant origine à des nouvelles sciences et à d’autres champ de recherches non pas spécifiquement géographiques. De cette façon, il est commun de se grouper, à côté de la Géographie, la Géologie, la Minéralogie, la Pédologie, la Métrosologie, etc. Cette interdisciplinarité apporte non seulement 1’enrichissement de la Géographie mais aussi des autres sciences.
