Minoritização, Glocalização e Política: Para Uma Pequena Teoria da Translocalização Religiosa

Resumo

O impacto da pluralização religiosa na cultura e na política ultrapassa e cruza fronteiras nacionais, nas últimas décadas, tanto físicas como virtuais, em várias direções. Muitas explicações para a emergência de atores religiosos e para a visibilização de novas e velhas minorias religiosas na cena pública continuam, no entanto, solidamente ancoradas num nacionalismo metodológico que é cego para a circulação, a mobilidade e a virtualização tanto do conceito de religião quanto das práticas religiosas. Este artigo discute as transformações locais e globais rumo à religião pública dentro de um marco conjunto, propondo uma abordagem que, embora não sistemática e completa, identifica na pluralização, na emergência de novos atores religiosos como minorias e na inseparável relação entre local e global elementos fundamentais para compreender a publicização religiosa em curso. O esforço de teorização lança mão tanto de evidências produzidas por muitos trabalhos empíricos nas ciências sociais quanto de contribuições vindas da filosofia e da teoria política contemporâneas.
